Asiago Chicken Pasta

2 Chicken breasts
1/4 Cup sliced red pepper
1/4 Cup sliced yellow pepper
2 T Olive Oil
1/4 tsp. onion powder
1/4 tsp. garlic powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp pepper
Linguini Noodles

Place the olive oil in a frying pan and add the chicken breasts. Sprinkle spices onto chicken and cover pan with lid, cook on medium heat for 15 min. Flip chicken over and cook 15 more min. or until chicken are cooked thoroughly. Remove from pan and slice the chicken, return to pan and add the sliced peppers. Saute until peppers are tender.

Sauce:
Melt 1/4 Cup butter in a pan. Add 1/4 Cup flour and stir to make rouge. Add 1/2 tsp. salt and 1/4 tsp garlic powder. Add 1 1/2 cups half and half. Stir on medium heat until thick and bubbly. Then add 1/2 cup grated asiago cheese and stir until melted. (I can never find just asiago cheese, so i just get the bags of shredded cheese that have a blend of a bunch of italian cheeses and i make sure I get the one with asiago).

I got this recipe when I was taking a Foods class in High School and have always loved it! It's kind of a different spin on fettuccini alfredo.
