English Toffee

2 C sugar
5 T water
1 T white corn syrup
1 lb butter
1 C sliced almonds

Melt butter and add other ingredients. Cook on high until bubbling well. Turn to medium heat. Do not cook to slow or butter will separate from sugar. Cook to 302-310 degrees stirring slowly and constantly. Pour on buttered jelly roll pan. Top with milk chocolate chips and spread out once melted. Sprinkle with ground walnuts or pecans. Score 1'' squares while hot.

This is my favorite candy to make, even if I do feel like my arm is going to fall off from all the stirring! Recipe from my mother-in-law.
