Navajo Tacos

Fry Bread
2 Cups Flour
1/2 Cup powdered milk
1 T baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
2 T Crisco
3/4 C warm water

Mix dry ingredients. Add Crisco and crumble with fingers. Use fork to stir in water. Mix until dough clings. Knead 5 min. Divide into 6 balls. Press into 6-7" rounds  and fry in 1" of oil both sides.

Chili
1 lb ground beef.
3 cups beans (I do pinto and kidney)
1/2 cup water
1 16 oz can tomato sauce
1 pkg chili seasoning mix

Brown beef, add remaining ingredients and cook 10-15 min. Top fry bread, add shredded lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, olives, sour cream, onions, avocado, salsa, or whatever toppings you like.

This is my Aunt Kathy's recipe. I remember going to her house and eating these when I was little. Now, I have made it a tradition to make them every September. We used to always get Navajo Tacos from the fair, but they are so expensive and the line is always long, so I started making them myself and they are way better!
