2 LBS Hamburger
1/2 envelope Sloppy Joe Seasoning Mix
1 large carrot, peeled and chopped fine
2 stalks celery, chopped finely
1/2 onion, chopped finely
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup mustard
1/4 cup brown sugar
3 8-oz can tomato sauce
12 hamburger buns
You can make this recipe on the stove and then throw it into a crockpot, or do it easily in an instant pot. Put the instant pot on the sauté setting and brown the meat with a sprinkle of salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Drain the fat. Add the rest of the ingredients(besides the buns....hopefully that is obvious) and cook on the slow cooker setting for 2-3 hours on high or 4-5 hours on medium (or low if you are using a crockpot). Serve on the hamburger buns, and enjoy!
Who doesn't love a classic sloppy joe!? I have tried many recipes, and this one is my absolute favorite. It is from the Family Dinner Cookbook by Debbie G. Harman
