8-10 apples, peel, core, and slice. (I like the taste of Golden Delicious Apples, but also like to throw in a mix of apples too)
put in sauce pan with about 1 cup water, cover, and let boil gently until apples are tender. Be sure water does not boil out. Add 1/2 cup sugar and 1-2 teaspoons cinnamon. Cook 5 min more, then cool, and mash with potato masher. This tastes amazing warm or chilled!

This apple sauce is not only delicious, but makes your house smell amazing as well. I'll never forget the first time I tried making this on my own. I had only been married a couple weeks and forgot to turn the temperature down after the water started boiling. The water of course boiled all the way out and the apples completely burned and stuck to the pan. It was so hard to get the burnt smell out of the house, and I think it took about a year to get the pan back to normal!
